Profitability of Prayer

"You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God." - James 4:2
“You do not have, because you do not ask God.”
– James 4:2NIV

Without prayer we cannot know how to handle suffering and also profit through it as the Lord will want it to be for us.
We can’t be mentally and spiritually alert for God’s direction that can help us to avoid many mistakes, difficulties and dangers in the journey of life. Anxiety, tension and agitations are not the ways to solve problem. It is by aligning our minds with the mind of God through the exercise of prayer that problems are solved.
When we don’t pray, we struggle with our problems and the more we struggle without praying, the more confused we become. That means until we pray nothing happens.

Nothing Happens Until You Pray

When the apostles were called by the council and commanded by them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. Peter and John confidently told them that they could not stop telling about everything they had seen and heard. This made the council threatened them further. But as soon as they let them go, the apostles gathered for prayer and not deliberations. They prayed to God for courage and boldness to continue to preach God’s word.

“Let us never forget to pray. God lives. He is near. He is real. He is not only aware of us but cares for us. He is our Father. He is accessible to all who will seek Him.”
― Gordon B. Hinckley

Immediately they finished praying, the meeting place was shaken by the power of God. They were filled with the Holy Spirit, and thereafter, they preached the word of God with boldness (See Acts 4:1-31).
Prayer replaces fear with courage, through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, it energizes and make the weaklings to become suddenly strong. You cannot be a coward if you are given to prayer.

“If Life gets too hard to stand…KNEEL.”

Prayer restores calmness and peace to a perplexed mind, thereby bringing divine insight into your thinking so that you can make right decisions or take right steps that will change your life. Prayer is not primarily a means to getting something you want – it is the means by which you get what God wants for you.

Prayer is submitting our totality and entirety to God

We can’t experience the power of prayer until we are true to ourselves, and also until we examine ourselves and purge ourselves of any sin that might have been holding us bound. Here’s the call to experience the profitability of prayer.
